Linda McRae & Deni Gauthier

Artword Artbar, 15 Colbourne St, Hamilton, ON

Come join us for this special event featuring Songwriter and Multi-Instrumentalist Linda McRae. Linda McRae is a veteran Canadian-US based multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter with 37 years’ experience touring and teaching both nationally and internationally. Playing banjo, guitar and accordion in an unflaggingly authentic, deeply satisfying and refreshingly acoustic style with a big dose of soul and skilled musicality, McRae’s unforgettable melodies and thought-provoking lyrics make her a captivating and sought after artist.

Linda has performed with the Vancouver Symphony and the “in house blues band” at New Folsom Prison where she facilitates writing workshops for the inmates. These experiences lead to the creation of Express Yourself Writing Workshops tailored for disenfranchised members of the communities she performs in. Since 2013 she has facilitated over 125 workshops with over 1500 individuals.

Linda is a BC Entertainment Hall of Fame Pioneer Inductee and 1st place Boston Family Folk Chorale Songwriting Competition winner for 2017.

Joining Linda is Ontario's own favourite Deni Gauthier.

“This prolific storyteller demonstrates his mastering of song creation by entwining heartfelt, emotional lyrics blanketed with appealing soundscapes. His textured approach to music precipitates unabridged songs that leave the listener feeling satisfied. It doesn’t hurt that his voice is a beautiful fusion of a softer version of John Legend and the soulfulness of Dallas Green.” Canadian Beats
